Football Victoria (FV) is pleased to be announcing today our season commencement dates for 2020.

On behalf of the Board and the entire FV team, we would like to thank our football community for their patience, unity, hard work and commitment to our great game over recent months as we have all navigated a very challenging period. Our club volunteers continue to be the foundation stone of our game and we sincerely appreciate their dedication and diligence.

Season Commencement Dates

The announcement from the Premier on Sunday paves the way for a safe return to competitive football and we have spent recent days consulting with clubs, councils and a range of stakeholders to put in place season commencement dates that are achievable and allow for the maximum amount of football to be played this season.
 
On this basis, FV confirms the following 2020 season commencement dates:

The Football Victoria website will continue to be updated as further information is received – including the detailed FAQ section.

FV would also like to encourage all players to register on Play Football and for clubs to submit their team entries as soon as possible, to enable competitions and fixtures to be finalised to avoid any further delays to the recommencement of our seasons. We understand there has been some reticence to register without a confirmed season commencement and hope that this announcement will alleviate those concerns.
