2023 Community Female Referee of the Year: Georgia Booth

Congratulations to Georgia Booth who was named Female Community Referee of the Year at the FVCIB Full-Time Luncheon on Thursday, November 16 as part of the 2023 Football Victoria Community Awards.

Booth has shown exceptional skill, growth, integrity, and dedication to refereeing our game across all levels across season 2023.

Post the event, Booth said she was "so happy" to claim the honour.

"I felt very surprised because I have worked with a lot of fantastic referees all throughout the year," she said.

"I am overjoyed and proud of myself to know that everything that I had worked towards was paying off and was recognised.

"I was very surprised to first see my name put down and then to get a call that I had won."

Booth spent 2023 officiating across all leagues from Junior NPL through to Mens and Women’s State League.

She furthered her refereeing career by representing Victorian officials in an interstate tournament and was selected as 4th official at the Nike FC Community Cup Final, capping off a fabulous season of refereeing.

"I think what I love most about refereeing is the community and who you can network out to through refereeing," Booth added.

"It is a really good community overall, getting to know a lot of different people from all over the state."
