Female Football Week (6-15 May) is here! Join us in celebrating the tremendous impact women and girls have within our game.
As the FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia and New Zealand 2023TM approaches, interest in female football continues to grow in our state. Our football community will need to be ready for an influx of female players across the coming year, as this game-changing event will captivate young girls across the state to dream about becoming the next Matilda.
The FFW theme in 2022 is Development. We're looking forward to channeling this theme into all things Female Football, including pathways, participation and growing the next generation of women leaders in our game.
PATHWAYS
Celebrate and empower during FFW as we channel the development theme into women and girl specific pathways. We have assembled an exciting catalogue of female only courses to help you to take the next step in your football journey!
Level 4 Referee Course
Run a campaign for Female Referees and offer a course at your Club. Football Victoria is offering a special price of $85 for your female members (first 200 to apply).

Walking Football - Bring Your Grandma

WOMEN'S FOOTBALL SEVENS
Women’s Football 7's (WF7) is a social, 7-a-side football competition for women and girls of any skill level! It's a great way to start playing football, even if you've never tried it before. You can learn more about Women's Football Sevens here.
FFW poses the perfect opportunity to host a Women's Football Sevens Gala Day potentially grow into a fully fledged program host.
Start by offering a day of social games, whether 5 v 5 or 7 v 7 for women and girls. This will appeal to those unable to commit to a full season or just looking for fun social football without making a long-term commitment.

CHANGE MAKERS
Football Victoria is proud to be part of The Change Makers Project, an innovative collaboration between FV, Victoria University and Clubs in our community. The program is designed to provide more opportunities for women and girls, break down barriers and empower Clubs to be better equipped to handle the expected rise in participation in the coming years.
The ‘Next 30’ Clubs have the opportunity to apply to participate in the next Change Makers leadership program, kicking off on 18 May.
