This recognition follows their successful completion of the FA Club Changer Program, achieving a well-deserved 1 Star Accreditation by developing an exemplary Women & Girls Action Plan.
The club's commitment to advancing women and girls' football reached new heights at the close of 2023, setting the stage for an even more promising 2024. In a strategic move to encourage female participation, Sunbury United FC organized a free beginner girls school holiday clinic, an initiative that proved highly successful, attracting interest and enthusiasm from aspiring young players.
During Term 4, Sunbury United FC expanded its efforts by running Go Girls and MiniTillies programs, with an impressive 100 girls actively participating. The initiative not only aimed at nurturing their skills on the field but also sought to instill a passion for the sport and build a sense of community among participants.
In a pivotal move, the club appointed Sara Nannery as their dedicated female football champion, underlining their commitment to creating an inclusive environment. This individual will play a crucial role in promoting and advancing the interests of female players within the club.
Looking ahead to 2024, Sunbury United FC is taking proactive steps to establish a senior women's program, further expanding opportunities for female players within the club.
