More than 200 players attend TIDC Summer Gala Day

More than 200 players from metro and regional Victoria recently gathered to attend Football Victoria's Talent Identification & Development Centre (TIDC) Summer Block Gala Day.

Having already held the FV State Championships in April and the Mid-Year Gala during the July School Holidays, the Summer Block Gala Day gave players an opportunity to take part in high-level games and unique, competitive football scenarios.

Throughout the day, FV Technical Staff and coaches completed assessments on players via Football Australia’s Talent ID App. The new tool enables technical staff, coaches, and scouts to provide real time feedback on talent covering a range of key attribute

Football Victoria recently competed in FA’s National Youth Championships (NYC) for boys in Coffs Harbour, with six teams from Regional & Metro Victoria making the trip. The Talent ID app was used throughout the tournament and was hailed as a major success for staff and players.

The FV TIDC Program is a part-time program, working with clubs to identify and develop our talented players for Victorian and Australian Representative Squads. The sessions within the program supplement club training once per week for Metro based players. For Regional Victorian based players, the sessions are delivered in a Talent ID Camp format over the School Holidays.

The FV TIDC program is divided into training blocks with technical staff monitoring players and reviewing positions in the program at the end of each block.

Players can be invited to trial for the program through:

1) Participation in the final block of TIDC in the previous year

2) Nominated by their club (Clubs are limited in their number of nominations)

3) Identified through FV Scouting Network

Players can be invited to trial at different stages of the year, throughout the duration of the program.
