CALD Miniroos kick off Harmony Week in Shepparton

To celebrate the launch of Harmony Week, Football Victoria's Miniroos Multicultural program headed to Shepparton this weekend to provide children from CALD communities the opportunity to lace their boots up and play in a fun, socially inclusive environment.

Harmony Week, which is taking place between 21 March to 27 March, gives us all the opportunity to celebrate Australia's rich cultural diversity. The week's themes include promoting inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone.

In line with the week's themes, the Shepparton Miniroos program partnered with the Shepparton English Language Centre to put on this fantastic event which was attended by 38 kids and their families.

Adding to the on-field action, local Syrian cafes provided food and parents were given the opportunity to socialise and take part in activities. Full of football related activities, cultural education and social connection, the event was an outstanding example of how football can act as a vehicle for positive change.

In partnership with Football Australia, Football Victoria is committed to continuing its ongoing support of people from CALD communities to take part in our great game. To learn more about available programs, visit the following link.
