Football Victoria U12 Cup wrap

On Tuesday (2nd July), FV’s Technical Team conducted the second U12 Boys Football Victoria Cup of the year held at Darebin. The morning kicked off at 9am with 48 knock-out group stage matches being played out across 6 pitches until 1pm. The day then progressed onto the Round of 16, Quarter Finals, Semi Finals and the Grand Final.

The day was a huge success with over 470 players, 100 club staff members, 8 referees, 1000 spectators, 16 Technical TIDC coaches and 11 FV staff members involved throughout the day. The 16 TIDC coaches involved were from both metropolitan and regional based centres who assisted with talent identification of the U12 players.

FC Bulleen Lions, Glen Eira FC, North Geelong Warriors 1 and Northcote City FC were the 4 teams who made it all the way through to the semi finals.

North Geelong Warriors 1 and Northcote City FC progressed through to the Grand Final match. A big congratulations to North Geelong Warriors 1 for winning the final match 2-1 after coming back from 0-1 down.

It was with great pleasure to witness the Football Victoria Under 12 Boys Cup on Tuesday 2nd July. There were in excess of 70 matches taking place, with players showcasing their skills and qualities throughout the day. Observations throughout the day indicated that there is a healthy pool of potentially talented players in the Victorian metropolitan and regional landscape. It was also pleasing to see Football Victoria employees from other departments support the operations of the carnival
