Football Victoria is pleased to announce the appointment of Dan Birrell as Football Victoria’s Executive Manager Football Operations.
Dan joined Football Victoria on secondment from Football Queensland in February 2023 as Head of Competitions, before taking on an interim position acting in the Executive Manager role from August 2023.
Throughout that time, Dan displayed outstanding, steady interim leadership of FV's football operations - a significant remit within the organisation, with oversight of advanced and community competitions, high performance/technical, commercial, futsal, coaching and referees.
Dan’s previous role as General Manager - Competitions, Referees, Clubs and Community, at Football Queensland, overseeing the unification of the Football Queensland pyramid, assisting with the FQ Zone Reform, restructuring of administrative processes and delivery of the Football strategy, has provided him with excellent insights on the football landscape interstate. Dan’s open and transparent nature and willingness to listen has already developed solid relationships with clubs and stakeholders, which he will continue to foster and grow.
