Celebrating National Volunteer Week

National Volunteer Week (18-25 May) is the annual celebration to acknowledge the generous contribution of our nation’s volunteers.

Volunteers are the lifeblood of our football clubs – without them, football stops.

Thanks to the Victorian Responsible Gambling Foundation, we want to uncover the stories of the Victorians who give so much to the clubs they love. We’re asking our football community to think about the people in your clubs who give their time and expertise every week, to keep the club running.

Nominate them and share their story – they’ll be in the running to be shortlisted for the 2020 Football Victoria Community Awards, have their story shared across Football Victoria’s channels, and be in with the chance to win terrific prizes for both themselves and their club.

Football Victoria CEO, Peter Filopoulos, is looking forward to the opportunity to hero some of Victorian football’s unsung heroes.

“Every club relies on support from a dedicated army of volunteers, that are part of the fabric of their communities.”

“Victorian football clubs have always done a fantastic job of recognising and showing appreciation for the volunteers within their walls. National Volunteer Week is a great opportunity to tell those stories to the wider community and celebrate their collective contribution to our game.”

You can nominate multiple volunteers at your club – please complete a separate form for each. Nominations close 3pm Friday, May 15.
