Football Victoria (FV) is delighted to release the VPLM fixtures for the 2024 season, with the action set to kick off on February 9!
A huge year is upon us as the NPL2 and NPL3 Men’s competitions will be reverting to the renowned Victoria Premier League (VPL) 1 Men’s and VPL 2 Men’s from the 2024 season onwards.
The VPL was the precursor to the currently aligned National Premier League (NPL) competitions, introduced in 2013 across Australia and adopted by Victoria the following year as the tier below the A-League Men’s and Women’s.
NPL2 (VPL1) was one of the most exciting and compelling competitions in the state in 2023 with four points separating fourth to tenth on the table after the regular season.
In Round 1, VPLM1 will witness a huge opening day with a triple-header scheduled to start proceedings.
Werribee City FC will host the first match of the season at Galvin Reserve against 2023 NPLM side North Geelong Warriors, Eastern Lions SC will travel to Dunstan Reserve to take on Brunswick City SC and John Cain Memorial Park will host a huge clash between Northcote City FC and Melbourne Victory.
On Saturday, February 10, newly-promoted Caroline Springs George Cross FC will welcome Melbourne City FC to City Vista and Langwarrin SC will have the big task of facing Bentleigh Greens SC in their season back in FV's second-tier competition.
The following day, Western United FC host Kingston City FC in Tarneit, while FC Bulleen Lions will take on Preston Lions FC at the Veneto Club on Monday, February 12.
VPLM2 will commence competition on Friday, March 8 as Box Hill United FC face Pascoe Vale FC at Wembley Park and Brunswick Juventus FC host FC Melbourne Srbija at CB Smith Reserve.
The following day, Beaumaris SC hit the road to tackle Nunawading City FC in an afternoon fixture, Doveton SC host North Sunshine Eagles FC at Waratah Reserve and Goulburn Valley Suns FC opens their season against Essendon Royals SC at home.
Altona City SC's Round 1 fixture against Boroondara Eagles is set to be played on Sunday, March 10 with the venue TBC.
The release also includes the fixtures for VPLM U23 Men's.
