Bill Fleming Medal
Introduced in 1954 as the Argus Medal 2 for the Victorian newspaper of the time, the Bill Fleming Medal is the longest running individual honour awarded by Football Victoria. Voted by a selection of journalists each and every year, the Bill Fleming Medal has been won by some of the games all-time greats. From post-war legends in Pepe Cubero, Angus Drennan and Vic Janzcyk, to revered Socceroos in Jimmy Rooney, Billy Vojtek and Jim Tansey. Double winners include Fred Falzon, Tommy Cumming and Luke Sherbon, but only one player has claimed the Medal on three occasions, Frank Micic, whose career spanned almost two decades and who earned more representative caps for Victoria than any other player.
