AFC/FFA C Licence

The C Licence has two components, the generic component (or part 1) and the senior/youth components (or part 2). When attending a C Licence course coaches will undergo both the generic and either the youth or senior component.

The C Licence is conducted over 7 days (56 contacts hours) all courses run across weekends to allow participants to continue work and have opportunities to put learning from the course into practice.

The course itself costs $1190.00, this may be subject to change depending on the venue the course is hosted, whether apparel is provided and whether meals are provided.

 

AFC/FFA C Licence - Generic Component

The Generic component of the C Licence is conducted as the first 3 days of the course. All participants who are completing the Senior or the Youth component must first complete the Generic component of the course.

On completion of the generic component of the course, successful candidates will be able to demonstrate knowledge in the following:

  1. The National Football Curriculum
  2. The Objectives and Structure of Football
  3. The FFA Philosophy and Vision
  4. The FFA Team Model
  5. The Coach Expertise Model

The generic component of the C Licence course consists of the introduction and the building blocks for both the Youth and Senior components.

Coaches will be briefly taken through The National Football Curriculum and the role that is plays in developing football in Australia along with the goals for football in Australia and the pathway on how this will be achieved.

Coaches will also be introduced to the FFA Team Model  the FFA Team Model provides coaches with the process for analysing matches, preparing for match days and create session plans.

 

AFC/FFA C Licence - Youth Component

The Youth component of the C Licence is conducted as the last 4 days of the course after completing the generic component.

On completion of the course, successful candidates will be able to demonstrate knowledge in the following:

  1. Plan, Prepare, Conduct and Evaluate a SAP Training Session
  2. Set a periodised training Plan for both the SAP and Game Training building blocks
  3. Communicate with and manage Youth Players

The Youth C Licence course is targeted towards coaches who are working with primarily junior players at both elite and community levels.

The primary goal of the Youth C Licence is to assist coaches in their development of coaching youth players. The course modules will mainly focus on how to assist player improve the their technical ability and how to help them translate that into games.

Coaches will be taken through how to better communicate, demonstrate and create sessions which will assist in delivering information which players will be able to understand and carry out on the field. They will also learnt he techniques for self-evaluating sessions so if changed are needed to be made the coach is able to recognize what is needed for the session to be more successful.

Coaches will also learn how to put together an effective periodic plan for their sessions, this will assist coaches to prepare and conduct their session plans throughout the season.

 

AFC/FFA C Licence - Senior Component

The Senior component of the C Licence is conducted as the last 4 days of the course after completing the generic component.

On completion of the course, successful candidates will be able to demonstrate knowledge in the following:

  1. In game Match Analysis
  2. Plan, Prepare, Conduct and Evaluate a Training Session
  3. Effective team Talk and ½ time talks
  4. Develop a 6-week periodisation pre-season plan

The Senior C licence is targeted towards coaches who are working with players in either the game training or performance phase.

The primary goals of the Senior C Licence is to assist coaches in identifying football problems and how to create solutions through your sessions. Coaches will learn how to break down match scenarios and situations to identify the problem that is occurring and then work towards creating a session which allow players to solve the problem.

Coaches will be taken through the methods of match analysis to assist them in identifying a football problem for their session plans.

They will also learn how to best utilize the time they have for team talks both prior to a match and half time so they are able to deliver the best and clearest information possible.

As a part of the AFC/FFA C Licence coaches are required to complete a post-course video assessment to be deemed competent.

AFC/FFA B Licence

To attend a B Licence course a coach must have completed either their Youth or Senior C Licence course along with their post-course video assessment.

The B Licence course is conducted over two 6 day blocks (Monday - Saturday), these are separated by 3-6 months to allow coaches to put into practice information gained from the first block and to also complete required on course tasks. Coaches can attend a B Licence course at the AIS and completed all 12 days in one go (for more information about an AIS course please contact technical@ffa.com.au).

The course itself costs $2420.00. On the course coaches will receive FFA provided apparel this consists of a Polo Shirt, Training Shirt, Shorts, Training Socks, 3/4 zip jacket and a backpack.

Coaches will also receive lunch as a part of their payment for the course.

On completion of the course, successful candidates should demonstrate a deeper knowledge and competence in the following:

  1. The National Football Curriculum
  2. The Objectives and Structure of Football
  3. The FFA Philosophy and Vision
  4. The FFA Team Model
  5. The Coach Expertise Model
  6. Analyse Football and identify key football problems
  7. Plan, Prepare, Conduct and Evaluate a Training Session
  8. Time management
  9. Change Management
  10. Develop a 3-cycle periodisation plan

As a part of the AFC/FFA B Licence coaches are required to complete a post-course video assessment to be deemed competent.
