League Honours: Women's National Premier Leagues
1974-1998 | 1999-2015 | 2016-2024 | Summary
There are few records which will likely stand the test of time as Greensborough's remarkable run at the dawn of organised Women's football. After finishing runner-up to Doveton in the first ever league season in 1974, the club became the epitome of dominance, winning league after league in what appeared effortless ease, unbeaten in half of their campaigns. The demise of Greensborough allowed perennial bridesmaids North Dandenong to assume their own period of dominance, which wasn't tempered after their amalgamation with Dandenong City. Berwick City, Brunswick Zebras and Cranbourne Comets each won multiple championships either side of the VSF/VWSA merger, at which Box Hill Inter embarked upon an eerily similar period of dominance to Borough, with nine championships in a dozen years. South Melbourne and Calder United can lay claim to being modern day greats, but they have a long way to go to catch the runaway leaders.
