NTC Girls Program

The National Training Centre (NTC) for girls is a key pillar of the FFA’s development model for players.

The NTC is a full-time football training program, with a main purpose of preparing players who show the potential talent to progress through the FFA development model to achieve potentially achieve Junior or Young National Team Selection, Senior NPLW, W-League and international representation.

The NTC should also have the ability to serve current internationals or other potential talents on a part-time basis, regardless of age.

Upon selection after FV's initial trial process, players will be required to train a minimum of three times per week with the NTC Squad and play one match.

In 2020 as a recognition of quality, FIFA selected the Football Victoria Girls Talented Player Programs to conduct an analysis of its academy structure and setup.

Only five boys and five girls programs were selected across Australia. Football Victoria Girls Talented Player Programs were chosen to be part  of the High Performance Analysis. A Global Analysis was conducted by Double Pass to assess the status of Talent Development in a High Performance environment all over the world.

Identified players are selected to train at a camp and will play matches to be held at a centralised location, including a cost recovery fee.

Players who are not selected after the first camp can still be identified in their club environment and potentially invited into the next Talent ID Camps or Elite matches.

For relevant age groups, Talent ID Camps will run during the April (weekday) and April school holidays as part of the identification, development and selection process for Elite Matches & Potentially Victorian representative squads (where the number of sessions prior to tournaments will increase if selected).

Initial player selection will be based on nominations from clubs, tournaments or expression of interests while also taking into consideration scouted players and players that participated in previous FV Programs.

Nationals Tournaments

The FV NTC Girls Coaches are responsible for taking the state team to represent Victoria at National Championships every year at the U15, U16 and U18 level. It is important to note that players who do not make it into the program at the beginning of the year are still monitored for nationals as the opportunity to go to nationals is not only for those in the program.

From these pathways, players may then be recognised for National Team Representation, W-League or opportunities overseas. It is also important to note that there is no singular avenue into elite football as there are also opportunities external to the pathways mentioned above.

Further details can be found here: FA National Tournaments
