Regional Football Review Results

Football Victoria (FV) today releases the Regional Football Review Discussion Paper and Stakeholder Survey Results, marking a significant milestone in the comprehensive review process.

The Regional Football Review, initiated by FV, aims to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of football administration, development, and gameplay across Victoria.

Lachlan Cole, Head of Growth & Development at Football Victoria, expressed gratitude for the active involvement of Regional Associations, Clubs, stakeholders, and the broader football community during the initial phases of the project.

"The engagement and contributions from Regional Victorians have been invaluable in putting the needs of Regional Football at the forefront of this project.

"The Discussion Paper and Survey Results provide a real snapshot of our current landscape, from several different perspectives, and will guide the formulation of really positive and meaningful recommendations."

Conducted in collaboration with independent organisation Solucio, the review incorporates analysis of previous reports, the current operating model, stakeholder feedback, best practice governance models in sports, and the overall regional football experience.

The recently released Discussion Paper and Survey Results represent the culmination of extensive research, stakeholder engagement, and collaborative efforts to assess the current state of regional football. The insights gathered will serve as a foundation for the next phase of the project, where Solucio and FV will work collaboratively to formulate draft recommendations.

Solucio and FV are currently in the process of distilling the gathered information into the final report with actionable recommendations, which will be shared with stakeholders in due course.

FV remains committed to fostering a sustainable and inclusive football community, with a particular focus on achieving gender equity by 2027, as we collectively work towards a brighter future for football in Regional Victoria.
