NPLW - May Player of the Month

Congratulations Danielle Wise, the South Melbourne FC striker received the most votes by the NPLW commentators throughout the month of May and has been crowned Player of the Month.

Last year's NPLW Golden Boot Winner scored five goals throughout the month of May, including a dramatic last-minute winner against Boroondara Eagles in Round 11.

Wise was honoured to be voted Player of the Month, saying the match against the Eagles was a highlight of the season so far.

"The feeling was great, it was a big game and a big challenge for us. We worked hard and felt like we deserved the win," she said.

With South Melbourne currently sitting in second place and the top of the table tightening up, Wise will be looking to continue to build on her positive form as chemistry between her new teammates grows.

"I think I've slowly been settling in and understanding how the people around me play. It's different playing with different people but I'm getting used team getting used to the team and game style," she said.

"This year it's taken a tiny bit longer for me to get going but I'm getting there now and seeing some reward for the hard work. There's a job to do each game and I'll continue to do my best to get on the scoresheet and work hard until I can't run anymore - even if it means I get carried off the pitch!"

Looking ahead, South take on FV Emerging this weekend before a bye in Round 14.
