Football Victoria is pleased to update the football community on arrangements for the 2022 Senol NPL Victoria Double Header on Sunday, 11 September - our showcase event featuring this season’s best Women and Men’s teams.
We have received overwhelming feedback that in excess of 5,000 fans are expected to flock to the matches. This has required us to evaluate the comfort, safety and enjoyment of all stakeholders.
As one of Victoria’s leading boutique football venues, City Vista was deservedly awarded the honour of hosting the 2022 NPL Victoria Finals, as the player, officials and sponsor experience would be exceptional. Our gratitude goes to City Vista for their assistance throughout recent weeks in preparing for these matches. City Vista remains a standout facility for Victorian football, providing exceptional flexibility for gala events featuring multiple matches; and we remain committed to utilising this well-appointed facility for FV competitions.
However, we can today confirm that the expected attendance has resulted in a decision to relocate the matches to Olympic Village in Heidelberg for the grand occasion. The overall capacity and undercover seating configuration present the best option for the anticipated crowds and cater for any potential inclement conditions.
Not only has Heidelberg United delivered many special occasions in recent years, including famous Australia Cup nights and NPL Finals, it has demonstrated a deep commitment to both men and women, with teams in both NPL Competitions since inception.
Through the process, AAMI Park was eliminated as being cost prohibitive and over-scale for our competitions, along with Lakeside Stadium not qualifying as a neutral venue.
We appreciate the passion our community has for football and hope you bring it to the games this weekend. However, a reminder that while constructive feedback and debate is welcomed, we will not tolerate abuse directed at anyone in our community, in any format, including online.

Tickets are $20 Adults, $15 Concession, with free admission for Juniors aged under 14. Tickets will be available at the gate unless sold out prior.
