FV releases 2023 Competitions Calendar

Football Victoria is pleased to announce the release of the 2023 Competitions Calendar, marking the key dates for major Victorian competitions, themed rounds, programs and more.

The full contents of the 2023 Competitions Calendar includes:

  • All football competitions (Metropolitan and Geelong)
  • All Abilities programs and competitions
  • Talented Player programs and training blocks
  • National and State Cup Competitions
  • Social football and pre/post season tournaments
  • School programs
  • Futsal programs, competitions and educational courses
  • Themed rounds and events

2023 FIFA Women's World Cup Australia and New ZealandTM 

2023 will be a historic and exciting year for our game with the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup Australia and New ZealandTM (WWC) set to take place across July and August.

In addition to the significant football calendar announced today, FV is planning new football activity from July-September to harness excitement surrounding the FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023TM, with further updates to be shared in the new year.  

Fixtures for all competitions will continue throughout the tournament, however the following guidelines do exist:

  • Fixtures must avoid clashing with any Matildas games
  • Scheduled fixtures (NPL or Community) are to conclude no less than three hours prior to a Victorian hosted WWC fixture (where feasible)
  • For all other WWC fixtured games - all scheduled fixtures are to conclude no less than one hour prior (where feasible)

Please note: While we hope there are no longer any COVID-19 related impacts to our game, it is important to remain flexible in this ongoing uncertain environment. If conditions do change, Football Victoria will liaise directly with affected stakeholders and communicate any relevant changes to the football community.
