Volunteer Week Spotlight: Louie Kompogiorgas

During National Volunteer Week 2021, we’re shining a spotlight on some of the hard-working, dedicated volunteers in our football community.

Louie was nominated for a feature by Frank Pizzo at the Northern Falcons, who praised Louie’s dedication to the Club.

“Louie has been a part of our club for around 7 years and has a son who plays in our U15's,” Frank said.

“In the last five years Louie has taken over management of our canteen and is at the club every day feeding players and parents.

“From Tuesday-Friday training sessions to Senior’s games on Saturday and even Junior’s on Sundays, nothing is ever too much for Louie.

“He does all the shopping, cleaning and general maintenance for the canteen and without him we would be lost.

“Most importantly, he has turned the canteen into a social hub where people can share a chat, a laugh and a coffee.

“I think he has created something at the club that is invaluable. Apart from the financial benefit for the club of having the canteen run every training and game days, it has turned into a place where people gather to socialise and connect with each other.

“He has a contagiously funny personality and engages with everyone. He has become part of the fabric of our club and his work is so important to the running of our club.

“Louie is a gem!”

Louie, thank you for your contribution to your Club and to our beautiful game.
