"Congratulations to the referees who have been recognised by the Football Australia Referees Committee. Their accomplishments are well-deserved and a direct result of their dedication over a number of years. We wish all our elite officials a successful 2021/ 2022 season," he said.

Jack Morgan officiated his first A-League game in June 2021 after more than seven years in Victoria’s NPL system and four years of work as an A-League fourth official. The adopted Victorian began learning his craft in his native England, where he refereed youth games for some of the UK’s largest teams, including Chelsea, Southampton and Cardiff.

Lachlan Keevers similarly made his A-League debut earlier this year after six years in the NPL. An air traffic controller by day, Lachlan has built a strong reputation after moving to Melbourne from Wollongong six years ago.

Joanna Referee
Joanna Charaktis is one of a number of Victorian referees to be promoted ahead of the 2021/22 season.

Joanna Charaktis will feel prepared for the step-up in grade a decade after taking up refereeing. She has consistently proven her quality as an official across 10 years, which includes W-League (now A-League Women), VPL, NPL and FFA Cup experience.

Peter Jaworski, who has also been promoted to the A-League Men as an Assistant Referee has considerable experience as an assistant in Victoria's NPL and officiating some of the country's brightest young talent in the Y-League.

Caitlin Williams, a rising star in the Victorian refereeing community was awarded the Referee Development Award in 2019 following a stellar season. She will be joined in the A-League Women by Lucy Nothrop, who has been promoted to the 4th Official Panel.

Each individual's promotion is a testament their hard work and dedication to our game. We thank them for their efforts to football in Victoria and wish them well for the year ahead!
