Victorian Paralympic Team Finishes Second At Nationals

Update

Victoria has finished runner-up at the Paralympic Football national championships in Sydney after a 3-0 extra time defeat to NSW in a thrilling final at Valentine Sports Park.

FFV Head of Community Projects Nick Hatzoglou praised the team and staff for their efforts in finishing second, along with the parents and families of the Victorian squad.

Victoria's 7-a-side Paralympic Football Team will compete at the National Championships at Sydney's Valentine Sports Park from Wednesday October 10 to Sunday October 14, 2018.

Matches are played on modified pitches and with modified goals, the same as Australia's national team the Pararoos. Find out more about player eligibility for Paralympic football here.

State team training began in April with players participating in the All Abilities league.

The Victorian side finished runner-up in 2017.
