Vale Tony Iverson

Football Victoria extends sincere and deep condolences to the Iverson family on the passing of Murray United FC deputy chairman Tony Iverson on 11 January 2019.

Tony has been Murray United FC deputy chairman for the past two years and was a loyal servant to the sport of football for over 40 years particularly with his beloved St Pats Football Club where he was diligently involved in all aspects of the club over the years as coach, president, committee member and still as a player with the over 35’s.

Tony is pictured here holding the Cup with his St Pats team mates and as a player with St Pats.

Tony was a true gentleman and a man whose moral character was unquestionable and he was genuinely loved and respected by all football people in Albury-Wodonga. Tony was passionate about creating a sustainable pathway for higher level football in the region with Murray United which stemmed from the enjoyment he had from his involvement in Border Soccer Club as a player in the 1980’s.

He will be sorely missed by us all.

Tony is survived by his wife Lisa, daughter Abby and son Curtis, who is also a former player at Murray United FC.
