Football Victoria (FV) is delighted to announce that team entries for the 2022 Football Victoria State Futsal Championships are now open.

The Football Victoria State Futsal Championships, proudly sponsored by Ultra Football, is the marquee event in the Victorian Futsal calendar.
Held between 4-6 July 2022, the event will be held at the La Trobe Sports Stadium, Bundoora and will bring together all Futsal clubs and providers across Victoria to crown the state champion in each of the junior, youth and senior age groups, ranging from Under 8 right through to Open Men and Women.
The 2022 Football Victoria State Futsal Championships is open to all Futsal clubs and Futsal centres in both metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria. Interstate clubs are also invited to participate.
The Football Victoria State Futsal Championships will also be an opportunity for FV to identify talented players, coaches and referees that will go on to represent Victoria at the 2023 Football Australia National Futsal Championships, which will be held in Melbourne.
Head of Futsal Anthony Grima is excited that Football Victoria will bring the Futsal community together for the event as part of a wider special celebration planned for Futsal this year.
“Any time we can bring the Futsal community together is always special but this year the State Futsal Championships will headline a bigger celebration of Futsal that will be held to support the Futsal community throughout the state,” he said.
“This year Football Victoria will be launching ‘Futsal Fest’ which will be an annual initiative designed to support Futsal competition providers and clubs in promoting Futsal more widely across the state throughout the June and July School holidays. We will be reaching out to all providers, clubs, leisure centres, councils, schools and even universities to help us reinvigorate this amazing sport, specifically on the back of the disruption the sport has experienced in the last two years”.
“We hope the State Futsal Championships and other events that will be held during Futsal Fest will entice more players, coaches and referees to take up the sport and join their local Futsal centre or local club. Now really is the time to get involved!” Grima said.
All Futsal clubs and centres who take part in the State Futsal Championships would affiliate with Football Victoria prior to the tournament commencement and all players, coaches and referees to be registered on the Football Australia PlayFootball registration system.

Age Groups and Age Criteria are in line with the 2023 Football Australia National Futsal Championships which will be staged in Melbourne. Age groups may also be merged depending on final team entries.
Age eligibility is determined by a player’s age as at 31 December 2022.
