Senior regional community sport to stay non-contact

Football Victoria acknowledges today's release from the Victorian Government relating to regional sport, outlining changes to contact training, which was to be permitted for eligible senior participants in regional Victoria from Monday.

In line with the directions of Victoria’s Chief Health Officer Professor Brett Sutton, Victorian Government has made the decision to halt the resumption of full-contact training and competition for people aged 19 and over, which will affect those clubs within regional Victoria that are still participating in football activities.

Full training and competition for players aged 18 and under can continue, within areas of Victoria unaffected by the return to Stage 3 restrictions.

Football Victoria will accordingly update our Return to Play/Return to Training Conditions and distribute next week for relevant clubs.

Football Victoria will provide a full update on the status of 2020 competitions at the beginning of next week, for all clubs unable to participate in football activities, due to the Stage 3 lockdown.
