Regional Talented Player Programs for Boys and Girls

Football Victoria (FV) is excited to announce its 2020 Regional Talented Player Programs.

FV will offer a variety of Talented Player Programs aimed to provide opportunities for the identification and development of Victorian boys and girls including;

1. Talent ID Camps (U9-U16);

2. Regional Players invited into Metropolitan Talent Identification and Development Centre (TIDC) Program (Girls U13, Boys U13-U16); and

3. Regional TIDC Program (U13-U14 Geelong, U13-U15 Sunraysia Only).

TALENT ID CAMPS

The Talent ID Camps are training sessions and matches held during the April and July School Holidays to identify and develop our talented players for Victorian and Australian Representative Squads.

Identified boys and girls are selected to train at a training camp in their local area and will play matches against other regions at the Regional TIDC gala day to be held at a centralised location.

Players who are not selected after the first trial can still be identified in the club environment and invited to into the Talent ID Camp.

For relevant age groups, Talent ID Camps will run during the year as part of the identification, development and selection process for Victorian representative squads (where the number of sessions prior to tournaments will increase if selected).

TIDC PROGRAM

The TIDC Program is a part-time program that works with clubs to identify and develop our talented players for Victorian and Australian Representative Squads.

Identified boys and girls are selected to train one night a week with an allocated squad. All TIDC players are required to train at least twice a week and play matches with their current club.

The program is divided into training blocks with technical staff monitoring players and reviewing positions in the program at the end of each block. Players not required for the new blocks will be monitored by technical staff in their club environment.

Players who are not selected after the first trial can still be identified in the club environment and invited to trial throughout the duration of the program.

For relevant age groups, TIDC sessions will run during the year as part of the identification, development and selection process for Victorian representative squads (where the number of sessions prior to tournaments will increase if selected).

Initial player selection will be based on an open trial. Eligible players must be born between 2011 to 2004 (both males and females).
