In the past week, the FV Referee team headed out to the Castlemaine/Bendigo region to help ensure the regional community was equipped for the upcoming Boys and Girls F.C. tournament.
There are so many different reasons to become a referee. It’s a great way to earn some extra money, give back to the game you love, stay fit and active, and build your leadership skills.
The Level 4 Referee Course had a terrific response from the community with 45 participants immediately ready to referee.
Participants completed the online theory before attending a three-hour practical session by FV referee instructors.

Referee Instructor Michael McPhee said it was "incredible" to see such a turnout before the beginning of the season.
"This will have an immediate and significant improvement in referee coverage in the Bendigo, Castlemaine and Ballarat regions."
FV would like to thank Castlemaine Goldfields FC and Bendigo Amateur Soccer League for their initiative in advertising and promoting referee participation! This is a wonderful example of collaboration between clubs, a regional association and Football Victoria.
In preparation for the annual Boys & Girls F.C. event, the FV referee instructors will be holding another course on Friday, March 24.
