John Kyrgios signs on with Boroondara Eagles

John Kyrgios will return as senior women's head coach after an outstanding season with Boroondara Eagles in the NPLW.

Following promotion from the VPLW in 2022, the Eagles finished the NPLW season in second place and were knocked out by eventual Champions South Melbourne in the Semi-Final.

Speaking to Football Victoria, John Kyrgios said he was "definitely" resuming his role as head coach for season 2024.

"The club was very happy for me to continue, it was agreed we had created such an amazing start and we had to keep going," he said.

"Everyone knows their spots regarding coaching and governance at the club, that's how simple it is. We have moved forward with a number of things this year, we have had good feedback at our trials and we are really excited and looking forward to the new year."

Kyrgios also had the honour of coaching the Victorian women's side in The Battle of the States clash against Queensland in October, leading the side to a 2-1 victory at The Home of the Matildas.

Prior to his role at Boroondara, Kyrgios coached at Manningham City, where he led the club's U21 men's side in the NPL2.

After exceeding expectations in 2023, the former three-time State League 1 women's coach (Boroondara) and NPLW Coach of the Year (Heidelberg United) will look to once again be amongst the contenders for the NPLW Championship next year.
