Get ready for GO Football Cups!

GO Football Cups are here! Held at both metro and regional venues across Victoria in the 2020 April & July school holidays; it’s a gala tournament for boys and girls, with age groups from Under 9s right through to Under 16s.

It’s the perfect opportunity for all teams, from NPL and WNPL to Community Clubs, to battle it out and become GO Football Cup State Champions. And importantly, it gives young players the chance to be identified through our official talent identification scouts, who will be on the lookout for emerging talent for our Skill Acquisition Phase Program (SAP), Talent Identification and Development Centre (TIDC) and National Training Centre (NTC) girls program.

Football Victoria (FV) CEO Peter Filopoulos said the new Go Football Cups events would quickly become a favourite on the Victorian football calendar.

“We’re really excited to kick-off our new Go Football Cups events for young players across the state. It’s a great chance for clubs at all levels to have a hit-out, have some fun, and potentially be spotted for future talent pathways,” Mr Filopoulos said.

FV’s Technical Director Boris Seroshtan said: “We are always on the lookout for new and emerging football talent in every part of Victoria. Events like our new Go Football Cups will help bring boys and girls together to show their skills right under the eyes of our technical team.”

As the inaugural event, it’s a great opportunity to become the first ever GO Football Cup state champions. Every team will play a minimum of 3 games in their gala day, with all group winners qualifying for the Finals Gala Days held in July at Darebin International Sports Centre.

Entries are now open! Clubs can register as many teams as they like into each age group, which players can then register into. Registration is just $40 per player.
