A big congratulations to Elizabeth Oswald from Elwood, who is October’s GO Soccer Mums Story of the Month winner, proudly supported by VicHealth. By sharing her story, not only will Elizabeth help to inspire and empower other women to take part in a fun, social and healthy activity, she has also won a $200 Visa gift card!
Here is her story:
“I played soccer as a young girl but in my country town, girls were only allowed to play up until under-10s. So, I was thrilled when I was given the chance to relive my childhood and pull the boots on. However, I can't remember soccer being so fast or exhausting! Or maybe the 40 years between games showed. But it was just as much fun as I remembered. I'm looking forward to the return of GO Soccer Mums, and if I get fit enough, joining a master's team.”

GO Soccer Mums is an introductory football program designed specifically for women, where participants can have fun, meet new people, and learn basic football skills in a social, judgement-free environment. It's not just for mums - but for all women, from all walks of life! It doesn't matter if you have never kicked a football before - absolutely no experience in necessary - anybody can take part!
