GO Girls is a new social, non-competitive football program for 12-14 year old girls.
It's designed for girls to experience, learn and practice football in an inclusive, fun, all-girl environment.
No experience is necessary - this social format of the game can be played by girls with all levels of experience and all levels of fitness. It's unlike any other form of football - with music playing, a lot of laughs and zero pressure.
While players will certainly learn some new skills, this is much more flexible and less structured football. The emphasis is on fun, social interactions and enjoyment rather than performance, results and competition.
GO Girls Project Manager, Georgie Camakaris, is thrilled to be removing some of the barriers to participation for girls in football.
"GO Girls targets girls who are relatively inactive and haven’t played the game before. However, as COVID-19 has seen many young people lose motivation and access to sport, GO Girls is also the perfect platform for previous players to get back into sport via a fun, non-competitive, non-judgemental football program."
"There is no need to have any football experience whatsoever. We hope this program can introduce more girls across the state to a life-long love of participation in football."
