Football Victoria to host female CP come and try day

Football Victoria (FV) is proud to host the inaugural female Cerebral Palsy (CP), Acquired Brain Injuries and Stroke related impairments come and try day.

CP is a condition that affects body movements due to a brain injury at birth and can affect movement, coordination, muscle tone and posture. It can also be associated with impaired vision, hearing, speech, eating and learning.

The come and try day will be run by ParaMatildas assistant coach Charlotte Ercil and participants don’t require and football experience to attend.

First started in 2022, the ParaMatildas are Australia’s first national team for women and girls with cerebral palsy, acquired brain injury and symptoms of stroke.

In 2019 the first talent identification camp was held which identified talented female footballers who make up the inaugural squad.

The ParaMatildas are preparing to compete at the first-ever 2022 IFCPF Women’s World Cup in Spain in May 2023.

The come and try day is open to all ages and will run from 10am to 11:30am at Darebin International Sports Centre on for on Saturday 8, October.
