Victorian Clubs to receive $462,000 boost from Sporting Club Grants Program

Football Clubs and Associations around Victoria have been handed a major boost this week, with confirmation that $462,000 will be distributed across our football community in the second round of the Sporting Club Grants Program.

A total of 183 Clubs and Associations will benefit from the scheme, an outcome that delighted Football Victoria CEO Kimon Taliadoros.

“We are thrilled to see such a significant investment heading directly to Victorian Clubs. It will provide welcome and necessary support in key areas,” Taliadoros said.

“We thank The Hon. Ros Spence, Sport and Recreation Victoria and the Victorian Government. Their ongoing assistance and support of Victorian community sport has been tremendous, particularly during these recently challenging times.”

The grant consisted of five key categories, with the majority of allocations being approved under the Uniforms & Equipment category. The categories were:

  • Up to $1,000 for Uniforms & Equipment
  • Up to $5,000 for Skill Development
  • Up to $5,000 for Organisation Operational Capacity
  • Up to $5,000 for COVID Recovery
  • Up to $5,000 as a COVID Circuit Breaker

Additionally, more than 50 Clubs & Associations were approved for COVID-19 related assistance.

“As Victoria continues to battle the ongoing impacts of the pandemic, this tangible, targeted financial support will be most welcome at our Clubs, who have been so heavily impacted by the disruption to recent seasons,” Taliadoros said.
