Football For All Tournament 2021

A football spectacle hit Thornbury in April, as almost 100 players took to the pitch for the Football For All Tournament at Darebin International Sports Centre. Now in its third year, the tournament is an initiative between the Victorian Government, Football Victoria, Melbourne Victory and Melbourne City, to provide community engagement groups the opportunity to play football in a fun, positive environment.

Players were also given the opportunity to play in front of Melbourne Victory and Melbourne City FC staff & scouts, who kept their eye across the talent on offer for their youth & academy programs.

Karen Pearce, Executive Manager Growth and Inclusion, praised the opportunities the tournament provided for Victorian players.

The Football For All Tournament is a true celebration of the diversity that exists within football showcasing cultural collaboration and connectivity.

"The calibre of the skills on show were first-class and highlighted the immense talent within our wider community”, she said.

“This tournament is an opportunity to shine a light on how football breaks down the barriers to participation, by creating inclusive and harmonious places for youth from different cultures and backgrounds to come together to play within a fun, safe and welcoming environment.

“We thank Melbourne Victory, Melbourne City and the Victorian Government for their ongoing support.”

The day was an overwhelming success, with Melbourne City FC eventually claiming victory in this year’s tournament.

Football Victoria, Melbourne City FC & Melbourne Victory are all looking forward to the next edition of the Football For All Tournament.
