FFV hosts annual Football for All Gala Day to celebrate end of 2018 All Abilities season

To celebrate the end of the 2018 All Abilities football season, Football Federation Victoria hosted its annual Football for All Gala Day on Saturday 8th September at Knox Regional Football Centre.

The day brought together all FFV All Abilities football programs for a day of round robin games. Clubs from the All Abilities league, blind and vision impaired futsal and the Wheelchair football came ready for a day of fun and competitive competition.

The Joeys division of the All Abilities League filled the 5-a-side cages at KRFC with their enthusiasm and excitement for the games with the support of their parents and friends cheering them on the outside.

The vision impaired futsal team competed in their first ever 7-a-side match as preparation for their campaign to Nationals in January.

The team played two friendly matches against Kangaroos sides, Victorian Cerebral Palsy State Team and Glen Eira Rangers.

The Wallaroos division played on the main pitch, finishing the season playing each other for the last time for this season.

For the first time ever, a finals match was playing in the Kangaroos division which saw the Victorian Cerebral Palsy State Team go down against Glen Eira Rangers. Congratulations to Glen Eira Rangers who started and finished the season strong.

The South-East Wheelchair football competition moved their Round 18 games to KRFC to join in on the fun. It was the first time for players and clubs to play outside on synthetic grass. With the perfect weather, it was a great experience for all.
