Football Australia and Football Victoria would like to inform the football community that tomorrow evening’s scheduled FFA Cup Round 5 fixture between Oakleigh Cannons FC and Preston Lions FC (Tuesday 4 May 2021) has been postponed.
Given the interest in this fixture and as a consequence, crowd management requirements at the venue, both Football Australia and Football Victoria believe this postponement will allow all parties to prepare the venue adequately for the anticipated crowd at this FFA Cup fixture, which will also be in the best interests of maximising the enjoyment of the fans that wish to attend this event.
Revised dates will be communicated to the football community shortly.
We look forward to this fixture taking place and the subsequent celebration we have become accustomed to, by the unique nature of the FFA Cup.
The FFA Cup has received widespread acceptance by the Australian football community since its inception in 2014 because of its ability to connect all levels of the game across Australia and at the same time celebrate our multicultural, diverse and inclusive community.
