Capacity building the Community Soccer Hub

In partnership with Brimbank City Council, Football Victoria hosted a Level 4 Referee course and a Game Training Community Coaching Certificate for participants at the Community Soccer Hub in Brimbank. The courses proved to be very popular. Over the month of March, 27 participants in total across both courses took up the opportunity to be upskilled and learn more about the game they love.

27 participants across both courses took up the opportunity to build on their skills

In the Game Training Coaching Certificate, there were a total of 19 participants who attended the two-day course. With opportunities to coach at the Community Soccer Hub, it is hopeful that some will get the opportunity to give back to the Hub whilst others will look to pursue coaching opportunities across Victoria.

The Level 4 Referee course saw 8 participants attend and are interested to pursue referee opportunities in the west of Melbourne. With prospects within the Hub as well, we look forward to seeing these participants use the skills that they have learnt to pursue paid referee positions.

Overall, all participants learnt a lot and feel more confident about being a coach and referee. More importantly, many participants would not have had the opportunity to do the courses if it wasn’t for this chance.

Football Victoria would like to thank Brimbank City Council and the Community Soccer Hub in coordinating two successful courses. Special thanks to Nuredin Hassan for his commitment in coordinating these opportunities with the CSH. We look forward to being able to provide more coaching and referee courses in the future.
